How To Keep Looking Good Post-Workout!
Are you just barely making time for exercise?
It doesn’t take much time to exercise; 30 to 45 minutes should be enough plus another 10 to 15 minutes to freshen up and get ready for the commute back to home or work.
But for some, 60 minutes may be cutting it close. Exercise is the best way to relax and relieve stress.
Surely you would not want to be stressed out by being late for work or a family gathering.
If you are one of those amazing people who still squeeze in time for exercise despite a busy schedule you should be applauded and admired!
You should also know that you can still remain stylish after exercise even if you don’t have the usual time to freshen up.
1. Post-Workout Style Starts Before Your Workout
Before heading off to the gym have a fresh palette on so that it will be easier and faster to transition from workout look to work look.
A good idea would be to apply minimal make-up or some waterproof and sweat-proof mascara.
Your foundation should always include SPF 15 sunscreen.
Have you seen a few of the gym ladies with sunnies on? Sun glasses help keep the eyes looking fresh.
As for regular gym wear, have a basic tank top or a t-shirt that can be layered or covered up by your usual work attire.
And although it has been more than 30 years since Olivia Newton John made the headband fashionable, wearing one will keep your hair from becoming unkempt.
2. Keep The Basics Packed In Your Gym Bag
Your regular gym bag should not only carry your workout essentials. It must include your favourite styling essentials.
This is your “Post Workout Style Survival Kit” and it could include the following:
- Extra hair ties
- Hair brush
- Foundation with built-in concealer
- Moist towelettes
These items will keep you looking and feeling fresh even after the toughest workouts!
3. Always Plan Your Workout Routine
If you have allotted 30 minutes for your workout time, reduce it by 5 minutes so you can still have time for a shower and style for hair and makeup.
You may wish to consider doing a 20 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session with 5 free-weight exercises or a sprint program on the treadmill.
These are short but highly effective programs that will give you more than enough time to freshen up after.
4. Dress Simple But Stylish
Your post workout wear can be simple yet still be stylish.
You could use an absorbent cotton undershirt and layer it with a loose-fitting blouse. Or why not consider Athleisure wear?
Athleisure wear had become increasingly popular. The fashions are designed to give you a stylish look that is adaptable in and out of the gym.
Lastly, always use stylish but nice fitting, comfortable shoes.
After a 20 minute HIIT session, your feet will thank you for not wearing high heels!
